If you are looking for that once in a lifetime honeymoon, head to the South Pacific. If you have at least 2 weeks to honeymoon, and you don't mind the long flights, island hopping, and no worries over the prices, let's do it. There are 3 ways to package this for all the South Pacific Destinations.
The 1st choice is a customized multi-island stay. Most of these destinations, you will visit have different islands or other locations on that island. You can pick what islands/ destinations you want to stay, the length of stay on each island, resort and room category, mode of transportation including inter-islands flights or boat shuttle. Do as much sightseeing or just enjoy being together in paradise. The 2nd type of package is to do a cruise. A cruise is a great way to see multiple islands, and the meals are included. You can add a pre-cruise stay of any number of nights, or a post cruise stay to enjoy the destination in-depth or both. A post cruise will give you time to relax before the long flight home. The 3rd way is to do an escorted tour. One example is Perillo Tours in Hawaii. There are many 20 tour operators have packages in various price levels. It's the resort and extras that can change the package pricing. What is great is most meals are included, sightseeing, shows, baggage handling, all the tours and transportation is handled by a professional guide.
Most couples do at least 3 islands in Hawaii. Oahu and Maui have the most flight options, but you can usually fly into or depart from any island.
Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach, the volcano, experience a luau, walking in gold colored, black, white and pink. As you island hop you can rent a convertible and explore, stay at a modest price hotel or at a world class resort like the 4 Seasons. I have tons of honeymoon ideas for you.
When You dream Tahiti, you dream about the over the water bungalows. There are choices and choices as you start to plan. Some resorts offer a Beach hut with a private plunge pool in the exotic gardens, others are water's edge huts on the beach, the over the water, and the top of the line Horizon View at the tip of the pier. You can mix and match these views to work in your budget. Some couples save a little by doing the bungalow in Mo'orea as it is priced less the Bora Bora, and maybe do the over the water in Bora Bora, then the garden hu or regular hotel later. There are resorts that are on little islands, and resorts near the city. These will be priced a little lower. The flight from O'Hare would start out in the afternoon, arrive in LA, then take an overnight flight to the islands. In both destinations like Tahiti and Fiji, you land in the main city. Think Oahu in Hawaii. That would be followed by a small plane ride or catamaran to the resort on the out islands. Start counting your days with 2 days of travel each way. then the number of nights at each resort/island you stay to do Tahiti or other islands like Fiji.
There are other amazing resorts that offer something different. How about honeymooning in a tree house in Fiji. You can stay at the world-famous resort The Brando. Yes, Marlon Brando's private island. Jean-Michel Cousteau is a 17 acre resort inside a coconut plantation. or stay at Turtle Island Fiji, where Brooke Shield starring in the movie Blue Lagoon! One important point is meals. There are very few all-inclusive resorts in the South Pacific. Meal plans can change by the season. In off season plans are upgraded to attract visitors. One thing for sure is to pick a resort with the breakfast plan, if it offers a 3 meal plan remember drinks still might be extra, or just simple beer and wine would be included.
As the world reopens to travel after the COVID, other luxury honeymoon destinations are welcoming you. Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Bali, Cooke Islands and whatever we can dream up.
Again, let me mention the importance of trip insurance. Do not travel without it. Flights can be delayed, luggage lost, I have had a bride slip by the pool and break a leg. Crazy things happen, in the last year 2 resorts had huge fires in the main kitchen shutting the resort down. Sightseeing companies have gone bankrupt and closed their doors. This protects your investment. I do not charge a fee for my services and experience. Payment plans are available, with final payment usually 6 weeks out from departure. Let's talk and see if we can make this happen. I have had couples that were not able to swing the longer stay or price point. No Problem, we have great islands like St. Lucia that are gorgeous. And now Sandals Resorts offer over the water bungalows in Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Antiqua, with more on the drawing boards. Also in Mexico the Karisma Resorts have them too!! There is so many little details to take care of, let me work for you and make it perfect. Call me!!
